Essex Fashion Week Hairstyles!
We had a great time styling the hair at Essex Fashion Week!
The day was amazing, filled with lots of fun and great clothes from designers such as Misseee, Lipstick boutique and Tom Pearce's NO AGG!
We styled the hair for the models and managed to grab a few of the TOWIE stars for a chat too!
Lauren Pope was walking for Nikki Lissoni, Bobby Norris presented the show and Tom Pearce was lovely too! Jasmin Walia and Abigail Clarke who was wearing our hair extensions attended the event too!
Our hair creations for Essex Fashion week were designed by keeping a catwalk fashion theme in mind whilst adding a touch of cutesy Glitz and Glamour that is Essex!
The day was great and the after party too!

Foods For Healthy Hair
Our team have put together our top Health Foods for Hair!
Protein
Your hair is mostly made of protein so eating a diet rich in protein helps to maintain your hairs healthy strong structure!
Protein is found in foods such as Chicken, turkey and lean
cuts if beef.
Stock up on Zinc rich foods such as Oysters, Lean beef, eggs
and nuts.
Beta carotene found in sweet potatoes and carrots is turned
in to Vitamin A by the body; a lack of vitamin A can be a cause of a dry Flaky
scalp!
Iron is highly important it helps carry oxygen to hair follicles and around the body!
A lack of iron (anemia) is a major cause of hair loss so
stock up on iron rich foods such as Beef, pumpkin seeds, nuts, lentils, dark
leafy greens and our favourite dark chocolate!
New research states that Vitamin D is great for our hair
follicle although they are unsure of how we don’t mind eating these Vitamin D
rich foods such as Greek yogurt, cottage cheese and skimmed milk all great
sources of calcium too.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is vital for hair health it helps boost
circulation feeding our hair follicles!
Eat plenty of Blueberries, strawberries, kiwis, peppers and
sweet potato.
Omega 3
Eating foods rich in omega 3 is highly important as your
body can not produce this but it’s needed to grow hair!
Foods containing all the omega goodness include salmon,
trout and mackerel and if you are not a fish lover pumpkin seeds, walnuts and
avocado will work wonders.
Eating selenium rich foods such as brazil nuts, tuna, eggs,
oats, garlic and cottage cheese will give you enough to help your body utilize
proteins resulting in stronger more resistant hair.
Vitamin E,
Vitamin E helps to boost circulation to the scalp and is
very nourishing helping to create an optimum scalp environment for healthy hair
to grow.
Vitamin E is found in foods such as eggs, liver, nuts and
leafy dark greens.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle affects our hair in a positive
way ensuring plenty of water is consumed to avoid dehydrating the hair and
scalp, Taking exercise to boost general health, using protective products when
styling and cleansers and conditioners suitable for our hair type, and brushing
the hair and massaging the scalp daily all add up to optimum hair health!

Our Team's Top 10 Hair Colour tips!
With the blonde to brunette and back again craze continuing!
Our team have put together 10 top colour and care tips!
http://www.oakleyacademy.co.uk
1.Some blonde tones tend to be matt looking, for a healthy looking glow avoid bleached tones and instead go for golden or honey tones that reflect light.
2.When going blonde using a multiple number of similar shades instead of just one creates a more natural effect and enhances your existing hair style.
3.For warm complexions (people with dark, olive skin with golden undertones, and usually with Brown or hazel eyes) go for golden blondes or warm brunettes to compliment your skin tone.
4.For cool complexions (people with pale skin with freckles or pink/peach undertones and usually with blue/green eyes) go for neutral toned darks or highlights, going too cool or warm could wash out your complexion.
5.Silver shampoo can be used to neutralise unwanted golden tones on blonde hair, its also great for refreshing dull blondes.
6.Chemicals in swimming pools can grab on to hair and cause discolouration, rinsing your hair in fresh water before swimming can help prevent this.
7.To keep both blondes and brunettes glossy and looking healthy always use products to protect from heated styling, use leave in conditioner to detangle and the new favourite hair oil is great used to reflect light (avoid using hair oil at the roots as this can weigh down your style)
8.After conditioning rinsing hair with a cold blast of water helps to close the cuticle and creates amazing shine, keep the cuticles closed whilst blowdrying by drying in sections and directing the air flow down towards the ends of your hair.
9.Using only a wide tooth comb to detangle hair when wet, protective products when styling and attending the salon for regular trims all add up to healthy hair.
10.Eat your hair healthy! Following a healthy diet rich in B vitamins helps to add shine to dull hair and brushing with a soft brush daily massages the scalp, produces natural shine and encourages new hair growth.
